North Hollywood-based production company Pilgrim Media Group has signed Lip Sync Battle producer Joshua Greenberg to a development and production deal that will see a range of formats created under the Pilgrim banner.
Under the deal, Greenberg (pictured) will work closely with Johnny Gould, Pilgrim’s chief creative officer, and Nicole Silveira, VP and head of development, to develop and exec produce formats across the music competition space, as well as other unscripted content.
The first series to be brought to market will include music competition formats The Protégé and The Music Makers, both working titles.
In The Protégé, 10 renowned recording artists head to their respective hometowns in search of the country’s next star, while The Music Makers will set out in search of musicians and inventors capable of crafting “one-of-a-kind instruments” from everyday objects.
Greenberg has previously served as showrunner and co-exec for producer seasons one and three of Lip Sync Battle for Spike (now Paramount Network); executive producer of 2017′s MTV Movie & TV Awards; and creator and executive producer of NBC’s The Sing-Off and MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew, among others.
