Acclaimed director Eli Roth teams up with Pilgrim Media Group for Fin, a new shark documentary feature.
Often known for his horror films, director Eli Roth has stepped into the world of documentary with Fin, a new feature with a strong environmental message. Fin exposes the criminal organizations that have been slaughtering sharks for food, threatening various species with extinction.
“‘Fin’ is the scariest film I’ve ever made,” Roth said, “and certainly the most dangerous, but I wanted to send a message of hope to end this needless massacre of sharks. They keep our oceans clean to produce half our oxygen, and they deserve our respect and deserve to be saved.”
With Congress set to vote on a possible ban on the buying and selling of shark fins in the U.S., this film could not be more timely when it premieres on the new streaming service, Discovery+ on July 13th.
Fin is directed by Roth and produced by Lionsgate and its Pilgrim Media Group company in association with Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Away productions.
