After receiving several awards, including the NAACP Image Award and a Peabody, High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America has now been recognized by the New York Times on their list of “The 50 Best TV Shows on Netflix Right Now.”
Based on the book by Jessica B. Harris and hosted by Stephen Satterfield, the four-episode Netflix docuseries takes viewers from Africa to the American South, exploring how Black chefs, historians and activists are keeping centuries-old culinary traditions alive.
