‘High on the Hog’ Nabs Nom from NAACP Image Awards

The Pilgrim documentary series joins the ranks of other brilliant series elevating the voices of Black Americans.

We couldn’t be more proud than to see our Netflix docuseries High on the Hog share the limelight with its fellow NAACP Image Awards nominees. The series has been nominated for Outstanding Documentary (Television) along with other fantastic docs such as 1971: The Year that Music Changed Everything, American Masters: How it Feels to be Free, Blood Brothers: Malcolm X & Muhammad Ali, and Insecure.

The awards, which will be presented live on BET Saturday, February 26th help to shine a light on the voices of POC. This is exactly what we hoped this series would do.

Based on the book by Jessica B. Harris and hosted by Stephen Satterfield, the four-episode Netflix docuseries took viewers from Africa to the American South, exploring how Black chefs, historians and activists are keeping centuries-old culinary traditions alive.

The series is streaming now on Netflix!
