Pilgrim was proud to be among the winners of the NAACP Image awards announced on Wednesday. Taking home the award for outstanding documentary series, the four-episode Netflix docuseries takes viewers from Africa to the American South, exploring how Black chefs, historians and activists are keeping centuries-old culinary traditions alive. It was based on the book by Jessica B. Harris and hosted by Stephen Satterfield.
High on the Hog had previously won an Image award for Outstanding Documentary (Television) as well as a Peabody Award.
The series is now streaming in full on Netflix.
