‘High on the Hog’ Wins Peabody Award

‘High on the Hog’ Wins Peabody Award

The hit documentary series won yet another award last night!

We are proud to share that High on the Hog has won a Peabody Award!

Based on the book by Jessica B. Harris and hosted by Stephen Satterfield, the four-episode Netflix docuseries takes viewers from Africa to the American South, exploring how Black chefs, historians and activists are keeping centuries-old culinary traditions alive.

The announcement was made on the Peabody Award website by John Legend.

The win comes after glowing critical reception as well as a NAACP Image Award earlier this year. We couldn’t be happier with the recognition this limited series has received as well as the voice it provides for the culture and cuisine of African Americans.

High on the Hog: How African American Cuisine Transformed America is streaming now on Netflix.
