Special Memorial Day ‘Wicked Tuna’ Sees Captains Team Up with Wounded Warrior Project!

The captains are giving back on a brand new Wicked Tuna Memorial Day special!

In honor of servicemen and women across the world, Wicked Tuna is teaming up with the Wounded Warrior Project for an extra special Memorial Day event! Premiering Sunday, May 30 at 9/8c, the episode will see the usually competing captains team up for a good cause.

After an especially tough season ravaged by the pandemic, Captain Dave Marciano of the Hard Merchandise gathered his colleagues to give back. “I’ve been involved with Wounded Warrior Project for years, and every summer, I take a large group out for a charter fishing trip,” said Marciano, “But this year, I’m excited to get the other captains involved. This is something that has always been important to me, so I can’t thank my fellow captains enough for coming together and making this happen.”

Not only are they donating a portion of their haul to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity founded to help veterans and active duty service members who have incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound while serving our country, they are also bringing a handful of vets along for the ride! These wounded veterans are getting a first class ticket to the open ocean to witness the captains first-hand!

Jen Silva, Wounded Warrior Project chief program officer was incredibly excited about the opportunity. “Connecting veterans together with their community is an important part of recovery,” she said. ”We are grateful to Captain Dave Marciano and all the captains of Wicked Tuna for their support of our mission to honor and empower Wounded Warriors.”

The Wicked Tuna Memorial Day Special premieres Sunday, May 30th at 9/8c on National Geographic.
