Happy Monday! To kick-off the last few days of January we’re featuring a new Pilgrim of the Week, Chris Arundel. As a Post Production Supervisor, Chris works on Pilgrim programs including his favorite projects, Wicked Tuna, Sharktacular, and more. Learn more about Chris and read what’s the best thing that’s happened to him this week:
What do you do at Pilgrim?
I’m one of the Post Production Supervisors. What does a Post Production Supervisor do, you ask? Once I figure it out, I’ll let you know.
What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?
I’ve worked on many cool shows in my time here at Pilgrim (Wicked Tuna, Sharktacular, World’s Wildest Police Vidoes), but Megalodon: The Monster Shark Lives is pretty hard to top.
What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of it?
My wife Heather went to Panama for life saving stem cell treatment this week. She has an extremely aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis that has no cure. The only treatment that has worked to reverse the damage her MS has inflicted is stem cell therapy. This treatment is not available in the United States so she has to go to Panama. Thankfully we banked our children’s cord blood at birth as that has been the source of the stem cells. If anyone who reads this takes one thing away, bank your kids cord blood at birth. We did it because we thought that it may come in handy for the kids if they ever got sick in the future. Little did we know that it would save Heather’s life in the present.
Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you’d know_____.
That three of my five kids have middle names that honor iconic Laker players from the 1980’s.
Who do you nominate for Pilgrim feature and why?
I nominate a Pilgrim who has been with the company for 7 years. A Pilgrim who is also an Ironman (as in triathlon-in-Hawaii-Ironman). Someone who exemplifies what it means to be a Pilgrim– hard working, selfless, dedicated and excellent at his job. A Pilgrim that is my right hand man. I nominate Doug “the Destroyer” Close.
