Pilgrim of the Week: Jo Luijten, Content Engineer

pilgrimoftheweek

At Pilgrim Studios, we only do ‘spaceship amazing’ stuff! And we wouldn’t be able to do what we do, without the awesome team we work with everyday. Every week, we’ll be featuring a mover and shaker at Pilgrim Studios. This week we’re featuring Jo Luijten, Content Engineer/Magician/Awesome person. Jo takes us behind the scenes of what he does:

What do you do at Pilgrim?

I’m a content engineer. I mostly make two-dimensional computer animations.

What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?

All the projects I do are utterly cool. Let me put on my shades. See? One example of a cool project is the show Explained in Children’s Drawings. In this show we asked children questions like “What would you do if you were the president of the Unites States” or “Can you tell us a Halloween story?” Their answers are presented in animated children’s drawings. You can watch every episode online here.

What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of it?

The best thing that happened to me this week was probably seeing really good stand-up by Piers Moreton, a British-American comedian. This week was different than other weeks, because I’m home alone. My wife is currently in Utah shooting her role in an upcoming Netflix movie.

Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you’d know that…

… I speak Dutch and English to most of my friends and Limburgish to my family.

Who do you nominate for Pilgrim feature and why?

I’ll nominate Dakota Bloom because he is an interesting guy with an interesting job.
