New week, new Pilgrim of the Week! Here are Pilgrim, we make sure to highlight the awesome team behind your favorite reality TV shows. This week, we’re featuring one of the producers of National Geographic’s Wicked Tuna, Shawnee Gibbs. Shawnee works hard behind the scenes to make TV magic and is currently gearing up for Season 11 of Wicked Tuna which will be premiering March 11! Learn more about Shawnee, what she does at Pilgrim and the coolest project she’s worked on:
What do you do at Pilgrim?
I’m a Senior Producer on Wicked Tuna and Wicked Tuna: Outer Banks.
What’s the coolest project you’ve worked on?
All of the projects I’ve worked on at Pilgrim have been really cool. Wicked Tuna’s exhilarating because of all the massive Bluefin tuna catches. I’ve done The Ultimate Fighter and seeing grown buff dudes cry will definitely stay with you. I think Ghost Brothers has been the most hilarious show I’ve ever done here. Watching that footage, I’d find myself simultaneously terrified and laughing hysterically in the same breath.
What’s the best thing that happened to you this week, either at work or outside of it?
Eating at a terrible LA restaurant with a good, old friend. The food and service sucked but we both had some of the best laughs we had this week.
If you could describe yourself in 3 emojis what would it be?
What’s your favorite Pilgrim show?
I’d say that Ghost Hunters is my favorite Pilgrim show of all time and Wicked Tuna is my favorite to watch.
Fill in the blank: If you really knew me, you’d know_____.
If you really knew me, you’d know audiobooks are probably the only thing keeping me literate at this point.
Who do you nominate for Pilgrim feature and why?
I nominate Mike Nichols, Executive Producer of Wicked Tuna. He’s been at Pilgrim a long time and always has a ton of great stories to share.
